The Indigenous Peoples Education Fund (“Foundation”) was founded to provide grants to support the education of enrolled members of any US state or federally-recognized Native American tribe.

The Foundation shall provide scholarships and other educational support to college, graduate and post-graduate students, teachers and schools. The Foundation will consider applicants in any field of study but may prioritize those students who are pursuing a field of study related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (“STEM”), medicine or law, including teachers in those fields, for undergraduate, graduate and professional programs at an accredited institution of higher learning, and/or may support schools and/or pre-college STEM education and school support.

 
 

Our grant criteria includes the following:

  • An applicant for enrollment in a degree program in an institution that is a not-for-profit college or university accredited by an accrediting body that is recognized by the US Department of Education, must demonstrate satisfactory completion of secondary (high school) education at the local / Tribal level. Due recognition will be given to the totality of an applicant’s circumstances including a demonstrated perseverance to obtain an education and the applicant’s uncompromising drive for excellence and integrity.

    Application

  • An applicant for graduate/post graduate and professional school studies in an institution that is a not-for-profit college or university accredited by an accrediting body that is recognized by the US Department of Education, must demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence at an accredited, not-for-profit university or liberal arts college during the last two years of the applicant’s undergraduate enrollment.

  • The Foundation is sensitive to the need for quality schools in order to give students a strong primary education that prepares them for college and graduate work. The charitable purpose of the Foundation includes the potential support of schools. During the course of its work, the Foundation will study the issues faced by Indigenous Tribes in relation to the state of its primary school system, and may develop a program to support the betterment of primary education and schools or school systems.
